Grades 9–12
Destinations Career Academy of Oregon is an innovative online charter school authorized by Mitchell School District (MSD) that combines traditional high school academics with industry-relevant, career-focused electives—giving students a jump-start on their college and career goals. While working toward their high school diplomas, students can choose from a variety of courses in these high-demand career fields through Stride Career Prep: Business and Management, Health Sciences, and Arts, Information, and Communications. Oregon-licensed teachers provide live online instruction and tailor teaching to student needs. Students can participate in career-oriented clubs, gain workplace skills, and prepare to take industry-recognized certification exams in their chosen career path upon graduation.
We're now enrolling students in grades 9–12 for the 2019–2020 school year.
We welcome Oregon students who are interested in:
- Broadening their horizons, pushing boundaries, and finding their passion
- Exploring the vast array of possible careers in high-demand fields
- Preparing to take industry-recognized certification exams*
- Preparing for the ACT's National Career Readiness Certificate
- Participating in a SkillsUSA chapter
- Learning career and employment skills, such as getting and preparing for interviews, collaborating with others, and communicating effectively with many types of people
- Having an uncommonly relevant education experience
*Many Microsoft®️ Office certificates can be earned after completing one course. Other certificates require more classes to be better prepared, and students who participate in the program for at least two years will have further preparation for certification testing.
