Destinations Career Academy of Oregon (Destinations) offers full-time enrollment for grades 9–12.
What subjects will my child study?
High school students take English, history, math, science, and life skills courses. Additional course offerings include Stride Career Prep courses to explore careers of interest and provide a foundation for pursuing post-secondary occupational certifications.
Does the program provide textbooks and other instructional materials?
Yes, we provide all the textbooks and instructional materials needed to complete the program. These books and materials are sent to students directly.
What does it cost to attend Destinations?
Destinations is a public school program, so there is no tuition. We provide Oregon-licensed teachers and instructional materials. Eligible families receive a loaner computer and printer. Students and families will be responsible for providing some common household materials (such as printer ink and paper). Our enrollment consultants can help address your technological and computer questions and needs.
How much time do students spend on the computer?
At the high school level, students will spend nearly their entire school day online.
Do you provide curriculum for special needs students?
Depending on your child's IEP, we should be able to tailor instruction to meet your child's needs. See below for additional information about rights and responsibilities regarding the education of a child on an IEP:
If you think your child may have an unidentified disability, please read about the Child Find initiative. If you'd like to discuss this with us in more detail, contact one of our Special Services representatives.
Does my child receive trade or industry certifications through Destinations?
No. Students who attend Destinations and successfully complete career readiness courses for at least two years will have gained enough exposure to prepare for certification tests after graduation.
How do students interact socially?
Students spend time with classmates online and through school outings, field trips, and other activities. Students can also participate in school and K12 online national clubs to connect with peers who share similar interests.
Will this program intrude into my home?
Home visits are not part of the program, unless you ask your teacher to come to your home (which is completely optional), and there are no cameras or other intrusions.
How do I enroll my student?

Do Oregon Destinations Career Academy (Destinations) students participate in Oregon State Testing?
Yes, as public-school students, 11th-grade students enrolled in ORDCA are required to participate in all state-mandated testing, which your child can do remotely from home.
Updates, notifications, and forms for testing are sent annually per Oregon Department of Education requirements.
Please watch your email for information regarding testing remotely from home and other options, such as opting out. If you have further questions, please contact our Testing Coordinator, Sheila Heino at sheino@onlineoregon.org
